Iran and Covid 19

Germany issued a worldwide travel warning in March advising against non-essential travel abroad, particularly against travel for tourism purposes. The current warning has been extended to May 3rd. This warning applies for all the countries including Iran. Further information will be announced after April 30th. 

Is it safe to travel to Iran in 2020?

Currently, regarding the worldwide spread of COVID-19 disease, traveling to Iran for people in risk groups (people over 60, with heart or lung medical conditions, weak immune system, …) is strongly discouraged.

If you are not in this group and you have an essential reason to travel to Iran in 2020, make sure that you observe the hygienic principles thoroughly. Contact us for necessary information and advice to stay safe in Iran during the spread of COVID-19 disease.

Iran Tourist Visa

Due to the spread of COVID-19 and the associated restrictions in international air and travel traffic as well as impairments in public life, warnings against unnecessary tourist trips to Iran continue to be issued. Since August 1st 2020, Iran is not issuing tourist visas. Other types of Visa are not affected by this restriction, and people can still apply for them through official way. 

When entering via Tehran's international airport (IKA), all travellers must submit a declaration (airline form) and a health certificate in English, including a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, which must not be older than 96 hours on arrival and by is issued to a doctor / laboratory approved by the Ministry of Health in the country of origin. Without this certificate, entry for foreigners is not possible.
